"A born writer, especially a born story-teller. Dr. Sutherland, who is distinguished in medicine, is an amateur in the sense that he only writes when he has nothing better to do. But when he does, it could hardly be done better." G.K. Chesterton.
The centenaries relating to Dr. Sutherland’s fight against eugenics and his legal battle against Marie Stopes are upon us. While the events are one-hundred years old, the ideologies and ideas behind them are not. Malthusians and eugenicists still stalk the earth, albeit with a contemporary image and wearing fashionable clothes.
